I wear them 24/7 yes even to bed. have a really bad bad leg and back problem and they help quite a bit. I don't care what anyone says. My comfort is more important than what others think. Go for it guys.!!

Emmi,
I'm surprised I missed your blog all this time--nearly a year ago according to the date. I'm also surprised you received no comments on your post, which I think is very insightful. Kudos to you for not going the reactionary path, and instead actually giving some meaningful thought to the possibility there could be practical reasons for men to actually wear pantyhose.

I'm responsible for publicizing this trend in the U.S., as the director of marketing for ActivSkin Legwear for Men (http://bit.ly/dN3bb, or activskin.com). Towards that goal, I've been publishing a blog called The Nylon Gene for the past 8 months or so (nylongene.com, or http://bit.ly/Yu3c8). It explores in considerable depth the various reasons that men are wearing them in growing numbers. In a nutshell: they provide leg support and relieve achy, tired legs in guys who work in occupations that require lots of standing, or other similar factors; they also provide warmth-without-bulk for outdoor athletes such as runners or cyclists; and they also make for a great base layer under overalls for hunters, skiers or campers.
In addition, guys who wear them for some of these practical reasons also find that they like the comfort they provide.

"Comfort?" you ask. Yes, the legwear being sold for men these days is of higher quality than your average grocery store women's pantyhose, so they don't itch and sag the same way. And,... most ActivSkin styles come with a fly opening for the guys, or at least feature a 'comfort panel' that provides more give in the front to accommodate those anatomical differences. So, stop by The Nylon Gene and check it out. I think it will speak to a lot of the issues you raised in your post. (Hope you're still tracking it after all this time).
