Grilling, Fenway, cold one with the guys, there are so many things to relish as our days are getting warmer and warmer.  Something that probably doesn’t make it on to your Spring/Summer Top Ten list?  Figuring out which shoes to wear with your shorts.

You’d like to wear the sneakers, they’re comfortable, but visually on par with orthopedics.  And this summer you made a commitment to yourself (oh okay, I may be making it for you now)- no more dressing like a Floridian retiree.

For your warm weather enjoyment here are eight Emmi-Approved casual summer shoe options from two quality shoemakers.  Most of these are every bit as comfy as a sneaker yet without any of the unsavory side effects such as, loss of desirability, increased frumpiness, and sustained eyesores.

    Some interesting suggestions for sure.

So, what is the rule for socks with these? Especially when wearing shorts.

Kenneth Cole has some great loafers this season too: http://www.kennethcole.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3075242&cp=3075190.3075224

For those of us who have wider feet and can’t wear Cole Haan :)

Emmi – Shoes in the summer are a constant hurdle for me. For the most part, I stick to flip-flops. Recently I’ve become attached to low-top Chuck’s. I feel they look great with jeans, but are they acceptable with shorts?

Yep, low tops work with shorts, no socks is preferable, or the short ped socks that won’t stick out. I can show you some alternatives styles too.
